Update after seeing doctor for the follow-up post op appt here in LA I actually have a saliva gland infection that’s what the lump is. He is having me take strong antibiotics 2 times a day for the next 7 days. I set appt with local ENT after antibiotics to make sure infection gone. Also have to do jaw therapy So my jaw doesn’t freeze up from the infection limiting my mobility. It all tied in together. I have some other things I have to do along with the medication to help with it getting better…heat on the Lump and massaging it. Plus s...

I fly back today for my follow-up appt with the doctor tomor..

I fly back today for my follow-up appt with the doctor tomorrow morning. One concern is that I have been coughing up phlegm with bl**d. Not supposed to be coughing or even clearing my throat...let alone talking to give the vocal cords a chance to heal so I am really concerned. The phlegm having that in it so I hope I haven't damaged the healing process or have an infection. I will keep you all in the loop. This has been way more painful than I anticipated. Swollen neck and jaw and sore throat where the vocal cord was fixed. Unable to really open my mouth too much. Just enough to put soft food in or a straw. My recovery may take a little longer than I thought. Just wanted to give you all an update. Thank you for the kind words. ❤️

Well…here we go. Haven’t told many people about this, but I am heading to CA for a vocal cord surgery which will be on Sept. 21. Pre-Op appt is tomorrow so that’s why I am flying in a little early plus any bit of work I can squeeze in before the surgery. I’ll be on voice rest for 2 weeks which means no talking the first week and very minimal talking the second week.
