one of enjoyable parts of my trip was just walking through the parks. I even saw huge monitor lizards (?) for the first time in my life (I’m not sure how to call them, but google said it’s MONITOR LIZARDS, sorry for such a strange word, now you know that I even googled it lol) in any other situation, I might have been scared, because… idk they are huge and scary and it’s hard to imagine them to be cute somewhere not in the park lol, but here, they actually seemed kinda cute instead of scary >

still sharing my thoughts on Bangkok. I tried taking the metro — and ngl, it kinda changed how I see the city. not in the best way. I’m used to getting around on a motorbike or just walking, which feels way more chill. the metro was super loud and crowded, and at some point, I got kinda anxious… yeah, not fun. I’m really thinking about moving here, but now I’m not so sure :c another thing I didn’t expect — the air quality isn’t great, and the temp changes are crazy. freezing inside from the AC, then burning hot outside. anyway...

I wanted to share a little more about what happened in that post. so, the anxiety didn’t just come out of nowhere. I decided to plan a little sunrise adventure for myself. I hopped on a tuk-tuk (open bus in Thailand) and rode it to the farthest stop, right at the edge of the beach. then, I decided to walk all the way back home beside the ocean. it was 5am, so there weren’t too many people around, and with the ocean breeze, the weather felt just perfect!! simple but fun little adventure. that pumpkin dish I had during the border run? it got stuck in my head hard!!!! yesterday I went on a border run to extend my stay in Thailand. I hadn’t done one in over a year since I had a longer-term visa, and honestly, I kind of missed it. the trip was long — four hours each way, plus about an hour at the border in Cambodia — but I got lucky with my seat. I took the very back one in the minibus, which reclined almost flat, so I managed to sleep through most of the journey. on the way back, we stopped at a cafeteria where food was included in the trip cost.
